Edubase Academy is celebrating a major victory after its 500th learner graduated, marking a significant achievement in its mission to develop talent and build careers in early years.
After opening its doors in 2021, the milestone marks five years of developing talent and supporting colleagues at the dedicated in-house training centre for Childbase Partnership, to build rewarding careers in early years, with the Academy offering apprenticeships and professional qualifications designed to set learners up for long-term success.
The 500th learner was Abby Shepherd, who recently achieved her Level 3 Early Years qualification. Abby was celebrated by the Edubase Academy team during a special visit to Willows Day Nursery in Aylesbury, where she is now putting her knowledge and skills into practice as a Nursery Practitioner. Here Abby was presented with flowers, a certificate and a gift basket by Edubase Academy Operations Manager; Trudy Mather and Professional Development Coach; Rachel Gooden.
Edubase Academy was established with a ‘careers, not jobs’ philosophy, supporting colleagues from the very beginning of their Childbase journey and providing opportunities to learn, develop and progress. Its programmes typically run for between 12 and 18 months, combining 80% on-the-job training with 20% classroom-based learning.
This approach allows learners to build practical experience alongside their qualifications, developing the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to thrive in their careers.
Head of Edubase Academy, Kara Tuckey, said:
“500 people have committed to learning, developing their skills and investing in their future. Behind every one of those are colleagues who have supported, encouraged and challenged our learners along the way, and we are incredibly proud of everyone who has played a part in reaching this milestone. What makes 500 particularly exciting is that it isn’t the finish line, it’s another stepping stone in our journey. We’re incredibly proud of how far Edubase Academy has come and excited about our ambition to support even more people to achieve their potential through high-quality learning and development.”
Edubase Academy currently offers a diverse range of programmes, including Level 2 Early Years Practitioner, Level 3 Early Years Educator, Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner, Level 5 Operations Manager, Level 3 Business Administrator and Level 3 Business Leader qualifications. The Academy also works as an external training provider, supporting other businesses to access high-quality training and development opportunities for their teams.
