Cycling to victory at Nature Trails Day Nursery
There was cause for celebration at Nature Trails Day Nursery in Cawston as Kitchen Team Member, Helen Thomas and her husband Leon completed a gruelling 30 mile sponsored cycle around Rugby to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK.
Having taken to their bikes to support the charity, who are facing predicted losses of 20-25% of fundraising income due to the pandemic, the couple have been delighted to raise a total of £210.00, with donations still incoming from proud colleagues at the setting on Cawston Road, as well as supportive friends. They are now planning another, longer cycle for 2021.
Speaking on their motivation to complete the challenge, Helen explained;
“Cancer has featured in both our families’ lives and we wanted to help raise money using our shared passion for cycling in our personal lives. We are both extremely proud to have achieved our goal and raise such an impressive amount of money.”
Nature Trails have adopted Cancer Research UK for a year-long fundraising drive, which has now been extended to the end of 2021 to support them through this challenging period.
