Creating a Jurassic World at Oak Tree Day Nursery
From the Tyrannosaurus Rex to the Stegosaurus, children at Oak Tree Day Nursery in Finchampstead are learning all about the Jurassic Period and the famous dinosaurs that lived through it.
After reading ‘How Dinosaurs Really Work’, pre-schoolers from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery in Nine Mile Ride were keen to find out more about the prehistoric creatures, including what they ate and how tall they were.
In order to bring the learning experience to life, children collected leaves and sticks from the nursery garden outside in order to help create their very own ‘Jurassic World’, complete with roaming dinosaurs.
Oak Tree Day Nursery Manager, Joanna Allen-Dann explained;
“The children have been fascinated whilst learning about the dinosaurs, and the activities have really captured their imaginations. We love to encourage imaginative play, and find it’s an integral part of aiding development.”
