‘Crafternoon’ raises money for Mind at Cedars Day Nursery
Cake decorating and crown making were just some of the activities on offer at Cedars Day Nursery in Leighton Buzzard as delighted children and their parents took part in a nationwide ‘Crafternoon’ in aid of mental health charity, ‘Mind’.
Sixteen families showcased their creativity for the fundraiser at the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery in Mentmore Road, which included making salt dough and flower pot decorating, helping to raise a grand total of £120 for the charity.
Cedars Day Nursery Charity Representative, Victoria Stone explained;
“Everyone had a lot of fun at the Crafternoon and it was lovely to spend time with the children and their families. We aim to make a real difference when it comes to supporting worthy causes and Mind is reaching out to about 14 million people a year in the UK who are experiencing a mental health problem.”
Cedars Day Nursery has adopted Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales which offers specialised services, advice and support to those living with a mental health problem, for a year-long fundraising drive.
Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Money raised will fund the charity’s work including the Mind Infoline and campaigning to secure a better deal for everybody who experiences a mental health problem.
