Childbase hands over £75,000 to The Sick Children’s Trust

Sick Children's Trust cheque

Childbase Partnership has kicked off the year with a £75,000 donation to The Sick Children’s Trust after adopting the charity as its new fundraising partner in January.

From Snowdon climbs and skydives to raffles and ‘brave the shave’ initiatives, colleagues and parents across the employee-owned company have thrown their backing behind the worthy cause, which supports families in staying close to their seriously ill children while they receive specialist hospital treatment through their ten ‘Homes from Home’.

The money raised by the 44 day nurseries and Newport Pagnell-based Head Office will now help sponsor seven bedrooms in the homes, which are located near major hospitals throughout London, Cambridge, Leeds, Sheffield, and Newcastle.

To celebrate the milestone, Childbase Partnership CEO; Emma Kneale and Operations Director; Louise Hill visited Acorn House in Cambridge, where they met Charity President; Michael Crawford and presented the cheque, before witnessing their impact first-hand.

Jane Featherstone, Chief Executive of The Sick Children’s Trust, said:

“We are absolutely blown away by the support shown by everyone at Childbase Partnership so far. To raise £75,000 in such a short space of time is an incredible achievement and will make a huge difference to families with a seriously ill child in hospital.

“Every fundraiser, every raffle ticket bought and every cake baked is helping families stay together when they need each other most. We are so grateful for the passion and enthusiasm shown across the company and we look forward to an exciting year ahead together.”

Childbase Partnership has given over £4 million to charities including The Trussell Trust, CRUK and Alzheimer’s Society since opening in 1989, whilst every employee is also given a paid Volunteer Day annually to help give back to the causes that matter most to them.
