Charity Monopoly Walk at Devonshire Day Nursery
Leicester Square, Oxford Street and Mayfair were just some of the famous locations that colleagues from Devonshire Day Nursery in Chiswick visited as they took part in a Monopoly walk across London to raise vital funds for charity.
Working in four groups to each complete one side of the iconic Monopoly board, the team from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Bennett Street each spent between two to four hours checking off the list of locations in order, raising an incredible £845 for Cancer Research UK in the process, with donations still incoming.
The initiative is the latest in a series of fundraising events for Devonshire, who have also enjoyed dress up days, sponsored step challenges, virtual balloon races and more in their efforts to raise money for CRUK, who in December announced they had been forced to cut research funding by £45 million due to losses from the pandemic.
Devonshire Day Nursery Manager, Emmy Avery explained;
“We are always looking to find innovative new ways to raise money for charity and are absolutely delighted to be making this donation to CRUK. Our nursery families are brilliant at getting behind the worthy causes that we support and we are now looking forward to planning more events for the coming summer months.”
Devonshire Day Nursery adopted Cancer Research UK in 2020 for a year-long fundraising drive, which has now been extended until the end of 2021.
