Charity dress up day at Knowle Green Day Nursery

Knowle Green Day Nursery in Staines was a sea of yellow and blue as children and staff dressed in the flagship colours of mental health charity ‘Mind’ to celebrate their new partnership for the year.

After raising an incredible £3390 in 2018 for ‘Alzheimer’s Society’, the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery in Knowle Green introduced parents to the new fundraising venture with a cake sale and balloons.

Knowle Green Team Leader, Hannah Willis explained;

“We love fundraising activities in nursery and are so thrilled to be working alongside ‘Mind’ this year to aid the integral work they do for mental health.

The generosity of the parents never fails to amaze us and we are looking forward to seeing what we can achieve this year. Our colourful dress up day has started our collection off nicely with a total of £178.”

Knowle Green has adopted Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales which offers specialised services, advice and support to those living with a mental health problem, for a year-long fundraising drive.

“We aim to make a real difference when it comes to supporting worthy causes and Mind is reaching out to about 14 million people a year in the UK who are experiencing a mental health problem,” said Faye Walker, Nursery Manager.

Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Money raised will fund the charity’s work including the Mind Infoline and campaigning to secure a better deal for everybody who experiences a mental health problem.
