Celebrating lockdown heroes at Woodlands Day Nursery
Nurses, doctors and Captain Sir Tom Moore were just some of the inspirational people that children and colleagues from Woodlands Day Nursery in Barnet dressed as to mark one year since the first Covid lockdown and celebrate their role models.
At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Orchard Road, pre-schoolers took part in a range of themed activities for the anniversary, including role playing as nurses and shop keepers, whilst hardworking practitioners were celebrated with personalised messages of thanks, as well as sweet treats from grateful managers.
Woodlands Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Emma Bloom explained;
“We have had a brilliant time celebrating all the amazing key workers and individuals who have shown such kindness and bravery during the past year. The children’s costumes were fantastic and it was wonderful to shine a spotlight on our wonderful colleagues, who have worked incredibly hard and stayed so positive.”
Using money from its ‘Charity Support Fund’, which is in place to help worthy causes away from fundraising partner ‘Cancer Research UK’, Childbase Partnership is also making a donation to ‘Duty to Care’, a charity which supports the wellbeing of healthcare professionals.
