Celebrating lockdown heroes at Lavenders Day Nursery
To mark one year since the first Covid lockdown, children from Lavenders Day Nursery in Bedford were delighted to dress up as key workers and superheroes to honour the inspirational people who had made a difference throughout the pandemic.
At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Bushmead Avenue, pre-schoolers took part in a range of activities for the occasion, including role playing as nurses and shop keepers, whilst hardworking practitioners were celebrated with hero cards, complete with personal messages, as well as chocolates and a team lunch from grateful managers.
Lavenders Day Nursery Manager, Jessica D’Arcy explained;
“We have had a brilliant time celebrating all the amazing key workers and individuals who have shown such kindness and bravery during the past year. The children’s costumes were fantastic and it was wonderful to shine a spotlight on our wonderful colleagues, who have worked so hard to continue providing an extraordinary service to our nursery families.”
Using money from its ‘Charity Support Fund’, which is in place to help worthy causes away from fundraising partner ‘Cancer Research UK’, Childbase Partnership is also making a donation to ‘Duty to Care’, a charity which supports the wellbeing of healthcare professionals.
