Celebrating lockdown heroes at Devonshire Day Nursery

To mark one year since the first Covid lockdown, children from Devonshire Day Nursery in Chiswick were delighted to dress up as superheroes to honour the inspirational people who had made a difference throughout the pandemic.

At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Bennett Street, pre-schoolers commemorated the occasion with a range of themed activities including role playing as doctors, nurses, shop keepers and teachers, whilst hardworking colleagues enjoyed a special lunch spread by each sharing a dish they had made, as well as being treated to personalised gifts and chocolate from their grateful managers.

Devonshire Day Nursery Manager, Emmy Avery explained;

“We have had a lovely day reflecting on the past year and celebrating all the people who have shown such amazing kindness and bravery despite the circumstances. This year has been unique to any other, and we are hugely proud of both our colleagues and nursery families for the way in which they have adapted to change.”

Using money from its ‘Charity Support Fund’, which is in place to help worthy causes away from fundraising partner ‘Cancer Research UK’, Childbase Partnership is also making a donation to ‘Duty to Care’, a charity which supports the wellbeing of healthcare professionals.
