Leighton Buzzard Mayor judges Cedars Day Nursery bonnet contest
Festivities were well underway at Cedars Day Nursery in Leighton Buzzard as children and colleagues welcomed a special visitor to the setting for their annual spring bonnet contest.
At the award-winning setting on Mentmore Road, children proudly paraded their homemade Easter-inspired bonnets in front of the Mayor of Leighton Buzzard; Councillor Farzana Kharawala, who took time out of her busy schedule to visit the delighted children and help judge the contest, with prizes awarded to every single child taking part.
As part of the celebrations, families took part in a charity raffle and games including ‘guess the name of the rabbit’ to raise vital funds for The Trussell Trust, following a donation of Easter eggs and essential food items to Leighton-Linslade Helpers to benefit local people.
Cedars Day Nursery Manager, April Hughes explained;
“The children had a fantastic time designing their Easter bonnets and this provided endless opportunities to showcase creativity. We were thrilled to have our Mayor join us and can’t thank her enough for attending. This was a special occasion for all involved and we are delighted to be helping such worthy causes in the process.”
Cedars Day Nursery have adopted The Trussell Trust for a year-long fundraising drive.
