There was cause for celebration at Lavenders Day Nursery in Bedford as proud parents and practitioners learnt that the setting had achieved Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ status for the third time running, following an inspection in August.
An outcome achieved by only 16 percent of all English Early Years providers, the Ofsted inspector praised the “excellent teaching skills” of staff at the setting on Bushmead Avenue, resulting in “exceptional progress” in learning and ensuring that “no child falls behind”.
In the report, the inspector credited the support for children with special educational needs and disability as “exemplary”, whilst adding “staff communicate exceptionally well with parents and other professionals to ensure that children’s needs are consistently met.”
Partnerships with families were further admired by the inspector, observing “parents speak exceptionally highly of the nursery” whilst “children are truly respected as unique individuals”.
