Generous parents and practitioners from Knowle Green Day Nursery in Staines have made a donation of Easter eggs to Runnymede Foodbank to help local people who need it most.
Following a record-rise in demand for items at food banks due to the cost-of-living crisis, families from the award-winning day nursery on Knowle Green made the incredible contribution of 135 chocolate eggs to ensure every child would receive a treat this Easter.
Having pledged a year-long fundraising and donation drive for The Trussell Trust, parents and colleagues from the setting have been taking part in collections of essential food and household items to keep the charity well stocked in supplies to serve the community.
Knowle Green Day Nursery Support Manager, Jen Ralphs explained;
“Our nursery families never fail to blow us away with their kindness towards the worthy causes we support. We are thrilled to be making this Easter donation to The Trussell Trust and are committed to helping them in their important mission to end food poverty.”
The Runnymede Foodbank are currently appealing for long-life juice, tinned custard, jam, coffee, pasta sauce, sponge puddings, biscuits, instant noodles and washing up liquid.
