Knowle Green Day Nursery delight at Staines Big Duck Race

The sun was shining for the Knowle Green Day Nursery team on Sunday as they took to Staines-upon-Thames for the Big Duck Race to raise funds for charity, Midas Plus.

Decorated with their company logo, values and achievements, including the setting’s award-winning ‘Green Flag’ environmental credentials, the giant duck, which was lovingly named ‘Dennis’ by pre-schoolers, set off down the River Colne before finishing in Memorial Gardens, all in aid of the cause, which helps support vulnerable people throughout the area.

Nursery parents and children flocked to the river to show their support for the staff team, who hosted their own stall during the Staines-upon-Thames Day celebrations alongside other local businesses and community groups, giving out books and speaking to families.

Knowle Green Day Nursery Manager, Chanelle Weaver explained;

“We had a lot of fun on Sunday at the Big Duck Race and it was lovely to see so many friendly faces showing their support. Although our duck didn’t win, we had a brilliant time and are absolutely delighted to be helping raise funds for such an amazing charity. We look forward to taking part in more community events like this one in the future.”

Midasplus helps support local individuals with physical or learning difficulties who are suffering financial hardship in South Middlesex and North Surrey borders.
