Jubilee celebrations at Field House Day Nursery

Festivities were well underway at Field House Day Nursery in Buckingham as children and colleagues took part in a range of activities to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

At the award-winning setting on Tingewick Road, children were delighted to create their very own bunting and paper chain decorations, as well as crowns encrusted with jewels and diamonds for a ‘Very Royal Tea Party’, where parents joined in the garden for socialising and a selection of homemade treats, including cakes, sandwiches and scones.

Across the setting, pre-schoolers also took part in a range of activities to mark Her Majesty’s 70-year reign, from crafting with red, white and blue materials to making fresh cheese scones, iced biscuits and the Queen’s favourite chocolate cake for the occasion.

Field House Day Nursery Quality Deputy Manager, Kirsty Freshwater explained;

“We had a brilliant time commemorating this special event in history and this provided endless opportunities for the children to showcase their creativity, as well as learn more about the wider world around them. It was lovely to welcome nursery families to the tea party and we were lucky enough to have one of them make a beautiful balloon arch for us. We were also thrilled to raise vital funds for Bliss with a special charity raffle in the process.”
