Festivities were well underway at Devonshire Day Nursery in Chiswick as children and colleagues took part in a range of activities to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Bennett Street, children were delighted to showcase their creativity with a competition to design their very own crowns, which they wore during a ‘Very Royal Tea Party’, where parents joined in the decorated rooms for celebrations and a selection of homemade treats, including cakes, sandwiches and scones.
Across the setting, pre-schoolers also took part in a range of activities to mark Her Majesty’s 70-year reign, from reading storybooks about the Queen and taking part in a Royal Dress Up Day, to a pin the jewel on the crown game and charity raffle to raise vital funds for ‘Bliss’.
Devonshire Day Nursery Manager, Emmy Avery explained;
“We had a wonderful time preparing for the Jubilee and making this an event to remember for the children. We were thrilled to have parents join us for the special occasion and this presented a fantastic opportunity to learn more about British culture, history and promote a wider understanding of the world around us.”
