International Women’s Day at Berryfields

Festivities were well underway at Berryfields Day Nursery in Aylesbury as colleagues and children marked International Women’s Day with a series of celebrations.

At the setting on Nimrod Street, proud Managers honoured the talented females within the Early Years team with gifts of daffodils, as well as being treated to a takeaway pizza lunch and a spread of sweet treats to enjoy during breaks as a ‘thank you’ for their outstanding contributions to nursery life and continued dedication to the children in their care.

Meanwhile, pre-schoolers were delighted to learn about pioneering women including Florence Nightingale, Rosa Parks and Emmeline Pankhurst using the ‘Little People, Big Dreams’ books, as well as discussing the important female role models in their own lives.

Berryfields Day Nursery Manager, Jessica D’Arcy explained;

“We are fortunate to have such a dedicated and passionate team of women who go above and beyond every day to create a safe and nurturing environment for our children. As educators, this occasion is a reminder of the importance of instilling the values of equality, empowerment, and respect for all genders from a young age. We are proud to be a part of a community that values and celebrates the contributions of women in all aspects of society.”

International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8th March 2024.
