There was cause for celebration at Hampstead Gate Day Nursery in Milton Keynes as families gathered for the setting’s annual Summer Fayre, all whilst raising money for charity.
Complete with carnival games, portrait painting, cake stalls and a pizza van, pre-schoolers, parents and colleagues from the award-winning setting on Eelbrook Avenue were delighted to immerse themselves in the festivities, raising a grand total of £351.00 for The Trussell Trust, which will help provide emergency food parcels to local people who need it most.
Organised by Nursery Practitioner, Rachael Wright, the event is the latest in a series of fundraising initiatives for Hampstead Gate, who have recently held a teddy bear’s picnic and a number of food bank collections in aid of the worthy cause, having adopted the charity for a year-long fundraising and donation drive, inspired by the cost of living crisis.
Hampstead Gate Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Katie Hughes explained;
“We had a brilliant day celebrating in the sunshine with everyone and were thrilled to raise more money for The Trussell Trust in the process. Despite the current climate being tough for everyone, our nursery families are still so generous in their support for those who are struggling and set an amazing example of kindness to the children.”
We prioritise the importance of outdoor play at Cedars Day Nursery in Leighton Buzzard. All children at our Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ nursery have access to our large, natural garden area on a daily basis as we recognise the impact that being outdoors has on a child’s social, emotional and physical development. The children enjoy planting vegetables and tasting their produce, served by our dedicated Nursery Chef.
