Green Park Day Nursery celebrate World Book Day

Green Park World Book Day

‘Room on the Broom’, ‘Ten Little Dinosaurs’ and ‘Alice in Wonderland’ were just some of the beloved books that inspired children and colleagues from Green Park Day Nursery in Reading as they dressed up in character to celebrate World Book Day.

At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on South Oak Way, pre-schoolers were delighted to share their favourite stories with friends and take part in book themed crafting activities, whilst practitioners delivered exciting storytelling sessions complete with props to commemorate the annual event, which looks to encourage a lasting love of reading.

As part of the festivities, families made donations of essential food items to a collection for The Trussell Trust, which will now be distributed by community food banks to local people.

Green Park Day Nursery Manager, Emma Carmichael explained;

“We had a fantastic time exploring some of our favourite books across the nursery and admiring the incredible costumes. We are hugely grateful to our families for their efforts and support in helping the Trussell Trust. Storytelling is brilliant for capturing the imagination and essential for aiding language development and building literary confidence.”

Green Park have adopted The Trussell Trust for a year-long fundraising drive.
