Festivities were well underway at Rowan Tree Day Nursery in Welwyn Garden City as families gathered for a fun day at the setting, all whilst raising vital funds for charity Bliss.
From traditional carnival games including hook-a-duck and a beanbag toss, to exciting pony rides courtesy of a local stables, children from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Guessens Road were delighted to immerse themselves in all the occasion had to offer.
Meanwhile, parents enjoyed socialising over an array of refreshments, as well as taking part in a tombola and guess the teddy name game, all to raise vital funds for the worthy cause.
As a result of their efforts and the generosity of families involved, Rowan Tree Day Nursery raised a grand total of £871.00, which will now go towards helping babies who are born sick or premature get the care they need, as well as supporting families and medical teams.
Rowan Tree Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Rachel Clarke explained;
“We had a wonderful turn out to our family fun day and this was a brilliant opportunity to catch up with nursery families and introduce them to our beautiful outdoor area and learning spaces for the children. We are so grateful for the support in our fundraising efforts and are thrilled to be making this donation to such a special charity.”
Rowan Tree Day Nursery have adopted Bliss for a year-long fundraising drive.
We prioritise the importance of outdoor play at Cedars Day Nursery in Leighton Buzzard. All children at our Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ nursery have access to our large, natural garden area on a daily basis as we recognise the impact that being outdoors has on a child’s social, emotional and physical development. The children enjoy planting vegetables and tasting their produce, served by our dedicated Nursery Chef.
