Fundraising triumph at Nature Trails Day Nursery

Nature Trails fundraising

Colleagues from Nature Trails Day Nursery in Cawston have been showcasing their sense of team spirit by working together to raise vital funds for babies born premature or sick.

At the award-winning setting on Coventry Road, staff have been pulling out all the stops for leading charity ‘Bliss’ with a series of initiatives, including a 40-mile bike ride in the heat, completed by Alex Copley Jones, Lauren Mittoo, Michelle Cane and Emma Goodman.

Inspired by the Childbase Partnership ‘2022’ themed fundraising challenge, which encourages colleagues to incorporate the numbers into their ventures, devoted Nursery Manager, Vicky Stancer, has also pledged to cycle a total of 202.2 miles throughout August.

As well as taking part in physical challenges, the childcare practitioners showcased their creative talents by making prizes for a charity auction, including a ‘Gruffalo’ watercolour painting by Steph Reilly and a Gruffalo themed board game by Hallie Suddens.

Meanwhile, parents and staff enjoyed a selection of homemade cakes as part of a ‘Treat Tuesday’ fundraiser, organised and contributed to by Ladybirds room colleagues, Louise Gulliver, Kelly Lawson, Georgie Ross-Barnard, and Sophie Retallack, whilst Caterpillars room children created a video complete with 20 nursery rhymes and 22 Makaton signs and pre-schoolers were delighted to take part in a charity ‘Pie the Teacher’ afternoon.

As a result of their combined efforts, the Nature Trails team have amassed over £455.00 so far from their month of challenges, with donations still incoming from generous supporters at the setting, including contributions for Manager Vicky’s 202.2 mile cycle through August.

Nature Trails Day Nursery Charity Representative, Louise Gulliver explained;

“Raising money for charity is hugely important to us as a nursery and we love to give back to the community in which we serve. We are incredibly lucky to have such generous families at Nature Trails and they are brilliant at getting behind the causes we support. The 2022 theme has given us lots of inspiration and we are so proud of the dedication shown by the team.”
