Festivities were well underway at Crescent Day Nursery in Edgbaston as families and colleagues took part in a series of celebrations to mark the Coronation of King Charles.
Dressing up for the occasion, pre-schoolers from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Calthorpe Road were delighted to welcome their parents for a special Coronation Party, as well as showcasing their creativity with a range of themed activities, from making cards and artwork of the King, to designing their very own crowns to commemorate the day.
As well as reading books including the ‘Little People, Big Dreams’ story of King Charles, the group enjoyed a celebratory tea party spread complete with handmade sandwiches, scones, fruit platters and hand-decorated cakes, courtesy of the talented Kitchen Team.
During the celebrations, families enjoyed a charity raffle with the chance to win Coronation keepsakes, raising a grand total of £60.00 for charity of the year, The Trussell Trust.
Crescent Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Amie Draper explained;
“We always love having our nursery families join us for these special events and we are so grateful for their continued support, especially when it comes to the worthy causes we fundraise for. The children had a fantastic time celebrating and this provided lots of learning opportunities, giving them a much greater understanding of the royal family.”
Crescent are supporting The Trussell Trust as part of a year-long fundraising drive, with regular donations made to the Birmingham Central Foodbank to help local people.
We prioritise the importance of outdoor play at Cedars Day Nursery in Leighton Buzzard. All children at our Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ nursery have access to our large, natural garden area on a daily basis as we recognise the impact that being outdoors has on a child’s social, emotional and physical development. The children enjoy planting vegetables and tasting their produce, served by our dedicated Nursery Chef.
