Coronation celebrations at Nature Trails Day Nursery
Despite their garden tea party plans being rained off, spirits were high at Nature Trails Day Nursery in Cawston as families marked the King’s Coronation with a series of celebrations.
At the award-winning setting on Coventry Road, quick thinking colleagues created a takeaway afternoon station for parents complete with fresh scones, jam and clotted cream to help escape the weather, whilst pre-schoolers showcased their creativity with a series of activities, from designing their own crowns to creating masterpieces of the new monarch.
As part of the festivities, children enjoyed themed books including the ‘Little People, Big Dreams’ story of King Charles to further knowledge, as well as listening to the national anthem and role playing as kings and queens in their inspired outfits.
Nature Trails Day Nursery Charity Representative, Louise Gulliver explained;
“Although the weather didn’t hold out for our tea party, we still had a fantastic time marking this special event in history, with plenty of rich learning opportunities for our children. We love to celebrate an array of occasions throughout the year to create lasting memories for our families and provide a wider understanding of the world.”
We prioritise the importance of outdoor play at Cedars Day Nursery in Leighton Buzzard. All children at our Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ nursery have access to our large, natural garden area on a daily basis as we recognise the impact that being outdoors has on a child’s social, emotional and physical development. The children enjoy planting vegetables and tasting their produce, served by our dedicated Nursery Chef.
