Festivities were well underway at West Cambridge Day Nursery in Cambridge as families and colleagues took part in a series of celebrations to mark the Coronation of King Charles.
At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Charles Babbage Road, children showcased their creativity with a series of themed activities, from making cards and artwork of the King, to designing their very own crowns to commemorate the special day in history.
As part of the celebrations, families enjoyed a charity cake sale complete with homemade treats and royal decorations, raising over £400.00 for the nursery’s charity of the year, The Trussell Trust, which will help provide emergency food parcels to people who need it most.
West Cambridge Day Nursery Manager, Lesa Clare explained;
“Our children had a fantastic time learning all about the Coronation and immersing themselves in the activities on offer. We have been blown away by the generosity of our nursery families and are delighted to be making this donation to The Trussell Trust.”
West Cambridge are supporting The Trussell Trust as part of a year-long fundraising drive, with regular donations made to the Cambridge City Foodbank to support local people.
