Crescent Day Nursery children make Christmas care home visit

Children and colleagues from Crescent Day Nursery in Edgbaston have been spreading the Christmas cheer with a visit to the residents of nearby Beaumont Care Home.

Dressed in their Christmas jumpers, pre-schoolers from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Calthorpe Road showcased their talents by singing a selection of popular carols to the group, before handing out homemade Christmas cards which they had created for the residents in crafting sessions at the setting, along with tree decorations and snowflakes.

During the visit, children also presented the residents with a gift hamper filled with treats to enjoy over the festive period, including chocolate and biscuits, much to their delight.

Crescent Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Amie Draper explained;

“We loved getting out in our local community and spreading some joy during this special time of the year. The children had a fantastic time and the residents were absolutely thrilled to see them and receive their gifts. This is a brilliant way of encouraging citizenship and we hope to make more trips like this in the New Year now Covid restrictions have been lifted.”
