Celebrating a decade of service at West Cambridge

There was cause for celebration at West Cambridge Day Nursery as the team honoured their beloved colleague, Kelly Howard, as they marked her milestone 10-years of service.

Having started at the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ setting on Charles Babbage Road as a Nursery Practitioner in 2014, Kelly has helped to positively shape the lives of countless children in her care, which she continues to do in her current role of Deputy Manager, securing the best outcomes for families and providing expert mentorship to colleagues.

Raising money for charity has also been integral to Kelly’s time at West Cambridge, taking an active role in fundraising initiatives and team fundraisers, including nights ‘sleeping rough’ under the stars and sponsored events, contributing to the £3.5 million and counting raised by Childbase Partnership for causes including ‘Mind’, ‘Bliss’ and ‘CRUK’ over the past 35 years.

To celebrate her decade of service, Kelly was presented with cards, flowers and gifts by her team, as well as being taken out for a celebratory lunch by a Regional Director and Area Manager, and receiving a bonus reward payment and extra paid week of annual leave.

West Cambridge Deputy Manager, Kelly Howard explained;

“Childbase has given me the opportunity to progress my role as a Nursery practitioner to Deputy Manager in my 10 year service with the company. Kelly adores how she can support children, family and staff to thrive within the Early Years sector. Working for an employee-owned company supports me to have a voice and engage our staff team.

Childbase Partnership Area Manager, Sammy Bloomfield said;

“Kelly is a fantastic support and role model to everyone at West Cambridge and we’re delighted to be celebrating her incredible decade. Not only does she ensure the children are receiving the highest standards of care and education, but is also continuously working on her own personal development plan to further upskill and progress her future within the company. She is a real asset to the team, and we can’t wait to see what she does next.”
