World Book Day at Nursery on the Green

Nursery on the Green Southall World Book Day

‘The BFG’, ‘Handa’s Surprise’ and ‘The Cat in the Hat’ were just some of the beloved books that inspired the costumes of children and colleagues at Nursery on the Green in Southall as they dressed up to celebrate World Book Day at the setting.

At the award-winning setting on Thorncliffe Road, pre-schoolers were delighted to share their favourite stories with friends and take part in themed activities, including delving into story sacks and creating their very own bookmarks, whilst practitioners delivered exciting storytelling sessions, complete with props to commemorate the annual event, which looks to celebrate the magic of books and encourage a lasting love of reading.

Nursery on the Green Manager, Emma Littler explained;

“Today we celebrated World Book Day across the nursery, and it was a wonderful occasion, filled with magic and imagination. The excitement was felt by all as we admired the creativity that went into the costumes and immersed ourselves in books. We believe in the power of storytelling to ignite a lifelong love of reading and today was the perfect reminder of that.”

World Book Day is marked on 7th March 2024 and was created by UNESCO in 1995.
