Generous parents and practitioners from Berryfields Day Nursery in Aylesbury have made a donation of Easter eggs to the Aylesbury Foodbank to help local people who need it most.
Following a record-rise in demand for items at food banks due to the cost-of-living crisis, families from the recently opened setting on Nimrod Street made the contribution of 48 chocolate eggs to help ensure every child would receive a treat this Easter.
Having pledged a year-long fundraising and donation drive for The Trussell Trust, parents and colleagues from the setting have been taking part in collections of essential food and household items to keep the charity well stocked in supplies to serve the community.
Berryfields Day Nursery Manager, Jessica D’Arcy explained;
“We know that lots of people are struggling to make ends meet at the moment and we are devoted to easing some of this hardship. Our nursery families have already shown so much kindness towards this worthy cause and we are looking forward to doing more to support the Trussell Trust this year, including volunteering in the food banks in the area.”
The Aylesbury Foodbank are currently appealing for long-life fruit juice, tinned tomatoes, biscuits, soup, custard, pasta, baked beans, tinned fruit and vegetables and tea and coffee.
