Celebrating apprentices at Hampstead Gate

Hampstead Gate apprentices

There was cause for celebration at Hampstead Gate Day Nursery in Milton Keynes as the team marked the achievements of their colleagues on National Apprenticeship Week, after graduating from the Childbase Academy of Excellence as Qualified Nursery Practitioners.

Having been working at the setting on Eelbrook Avenue alongside their studies for the past 18 months, Lauren Muggleton and Nicole Grady were delighted to both complete their Level 3 NVQ in Early Years, which included modules in the bespoke Childbase Partnership ‘Teach to Reach’ programme, which is accredited with a prestigious Princess Royal Training Award.

Established in January 2021, the Childbase Training Academy of Excellence was created to deliver a centre where all Apprentices are supported in-house by Childbase Partnership experts as they gain practical experience in nursery. The team provide face to face training, conduct in person observations and support learners in achieving their qualifications.

Through an extensive range of bespoke training days, apprentices gain essential knowledge across all areas of their standard, with topics covered including Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, Child Development, Safeguarding and SEND. These sessions are also supported with additional online training courses and resources to instil confidence.

Hampstead Gate Deputy Manager, Katie Hughes explained;

“The girls have grown so much since starting with us and are really shining as Nursery Practitioners within our Ladybird and Bumblebee rooms. We are incredibly proud of everything they’ve achieved, and it’s been really special to witness their professional development in this way. We can’t wait to see their careers progress with us.”

Hampstead Gate Nursery Practitioner, Lauren Muggleton explained;

“I am so pleased to have finally qualified as a Nursery Practitioner after nearly two years of hard work. Although challenging at times, it’s been so worth it and great to meet so many people from different nurseries and share this journey with them. It’s been a brilliant experience and I’m really enjoying putting everything I’ve learnt into practice.”

As part of the festivities for National Apprenticeship Week, all learners at Hampstead Gate are being celebrated with gifts from managers, including specially made keyrings and bespoke cards with words of praise and appreciation for their continued dedication.

Learners must be at least 16 years old and be successful at interview for an Apprenticeship position. Vacancies can be found here:
