Festivities were well underway at Knowle Green Day Nursery in Staines as families and colleagues gathered for a ‘Very Royal Tea Party’ in the garden outside.
As part of celebrations to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, parents were invited to join their children at the award-winning setting on Knowle Green where they enjoyed a selection of homemade treats, including cakes, sandwiches and scones, as well as taking part in a charity raffle to raise vital funds for Bliss, helping to support poorly babies.
Pre-schoolers were delighted to showcase their creativity by making their very own crowns and decorative bunting to set the scene, whilst a host of themed activities also took place across the setting, from learning about castles and royalty, to crafting with a variety of red, white and blue materials and making cards of congratulations for the Queen herself.
Knowle Green Day Nursery Manager, Jen Ralphs explained;
“The children loved preparing for the tea party and this was a fantastic opportunity to teach them more about British history and promote a wider understanding of the world around them. We had a wonderful time commemorating this special milestone event and were thrilled to raise money for the worthy cause that is Bliss in the process.”
