St. Albans day nursery rated one of the best in the country
Extremely happy children and skillful, passionate staff have made Grasshoppers Day Nursery in St. Albans one of the very best early learning centres in the country.
The day nursery in York Road, St. Albans, has just been rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted - which is achieved by only 19 per cent of early year’s providers – sparking celebrations amongst children, staff and parents.
As Grasshoppers Manager Jennifer Neville explained:
“We couldn’t be more proud or delighted that the inspector recognised how ambitious we are for our children, and that she described our relationship with parents as an exceptionally close partnership. This teamwork has made our nursery outstanding and we will continue to strive to make it even better.”
In her report, the inspector noted that staff fully challenge children in their mathematical development and skilfully use mealtimes for discussions about food to ensure that the importance of good nutrition to healthy lifestyles is understood.
“Children make rapid progress. They are very eager learners and fully engage in the extensive range of challenging activities. With staff support, children rapidly learn the necessary skills ready for their next stage in learning and eventual move on to school,” said the inspector.
