Remembrance observed at Bedford Day Nursery
Remembrance has been observed at Lavenders Day Nursery in Bedford as a mark of respect for those who fought and continue to fight to make our world a safer place.
The children at the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Bushmead Avenue, lovingly made a wreath complete with painted poppies to lie at the memorial on The Embankment. The children walked a short distance to lay the wreath in preparation for Remembrance Day.
Lavenders Manager Juliana Di Niro said:
“At Lavenders we feel that it’s important for children to learn about the past and the significance behind national events. Children often query why people wear poppies at this time of year and we address the topic in a way that young children are able to understand. We touch on battles of the past and why it’s important for us to pay respects to the men and women who protect and serve us all.”
