Ready, steady, bake off at Winchester Day Nursery
Cakes and baked goods have been available all week to lucky parents at West Downs Day Nursery, as the nursery held their very own charity ‘bake off’.
Every day, two practitioners went head to head at the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ nursery in Romsey Road. The cakes were then laid out for parents to sample with a request for a voluntary donation. They then voted for the best cakes.
The nursery raised almost £100 for the charity, Alzheimer’s Society.
West Downs Manager Lyndsey Burns said:
“At West Downs we strive to support the communities we live in and this was a fun exercise and tasty in which to raise money for charity. I would like to thank all our dedicated practitioners as well as everyone who donated money to such a worthy cause.”
Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity and provides expert information, training and support services to those who need their help. Their research programme focuses on improving care for people with dementia today and finding a cure for tomorrow.
