Pop Up Farm visits Bedford Day Nursery
Farmyard animals dropped into Lavenders Day Nursery in Bedford this week with the arrival of the Pop Up Farm.
Children at the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Bushmead Avenue were thrilled and excited to be able to pet the animals and feed them. They were also taught about how the animals need to be looked after to stay happy and healthy.
To extend this learning, highly trained practitioners use tuff trays to create model farms and introduced animal sound games. They also had a go at drawing the animals that they had seen.
Nursery Manager Juliana Di Niro said:
“It was wonderful to have the Pop Up Farm into visit the nursery; to see the children’s delight was worthwhile in itself. Our practitioners really capitalised on the children’s fascination and introduced a range of farmyard animal themed activities to encourage further learning.”
