Parents help us to shine

Once again parents have proved that it is not only Childbase Partnership employees who are committed to ensuring nurseries are the very best that they can be.

Over 2,000 parents - that's more than 300 up on last year - responded to the annual survey with welcome praise for excellence and more ideas on how to improve their nursery experience.

While still formulating plans based on the results; company-wide we are celebrating the fact that parents rate our staff as warm, friendly, approachable and above all caring.

As Lynda Gostelow, Operations Director, explained there was much to celebrate in this year's results and, equally important, areas have been identified for further improvement like even more communication about nursery life by way of text and email.

"We take great pride in the partnerships we have with parents whose commitment to the process of evaluation is invaluable. We are committed to supporting our staff and managers in delivering a better service in the areas identified, which will result in even better outcomes for the children in our care," said Lynda.

A total of 2,046 parents returned completed surveys giving top scores for the warm and welcoming environment provided in Childbase nurseries and the broad range of activities offered to children.

Parents also reported that their children were happy, valued and benefitting from the individualised care offered by staff who had established caring and positive relationships with them.

The facilities offered at the 41 nurseries and a school in the South of England were also praised, indoors and out, with safety and security for children also being rated highly.

Changing working patterns for parents, means that Childbase is constantly looking at ways to ensure a flexible response to demand as evidenced by the earlier opening times in some nurseries. The company is also looking at further improving the communication between staff and parents on a child's progress.

Parents should be encouraged by the fact that following the previous two surveys, the company responded by installing CCTV in all nurseries; extended opening hours; parent texting service and special parent training sessions on First Aid; behaviour management; language development and EYFS.

Parent comments this year included the following:
"Your friendly approach, your understanding of babies/children, your outdoor
facilities and making full of use of them with the children... I could go on
and on."

"I find staff extremely approachable and warm. They are a credit to the nursery. Thanks
for making William's transition into your nursery a great experience. He very much looks forward to his time there."

"I trust the Pennypot team with Poppy's care - I know they won't let her or us down."
