Mad Hatter’s’ fun at Knowle Green Day Nursery summer fund-raiser
Children aren’t the only ones who enjoy dressing up at Knowle Green Day Nursery in Staines as staff members proved at a Summer Fair fund-raiser which made £750 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The ‘Mad Hatter’s Tea Party’ themed event at the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ day nursery in Knowle Green had existing and prospective parents and children crafting extraordinary headgear and enjoying a nursery tea with a difference.
As Knowle Green Manager, Faye Walker explained the annual event is hugely popular with parents and children but also her artistic staff team who are given full reign with the crafting supplies.
“It is a wonderful event because we are not only raising money for a worthy cause but also having quality time with our busy parents. They get to experience a little of the magic we have every day playing and learning with their children; it couldn’t be better,” she said.
Adult and child visitors were encouraged to make their own hats for the event with staff saying they were amazed and delighted by the creations.
A variety of games, a raffle, an entertainer and hot dogs and fruit were just some of the attractions on offer at the event.
Knowle Green Day Nursery has adopted the Alzheimer’s Society for a year-long fund-raising drive.
