Fun and fund-raising at Lavenders Day Nursery in Bedford
Over 140 parents and friends joined the fun at Lavenders Day Nursery in Bedford for a Family Day out that also raised £176 so far for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The annual Family Fun Day at the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery in Bushmead Avenue welcomed existing and prospective families for food and games in what is the most popular event in the nursery calendar.
As Jessica D’Arcy, Lavenders Deputy Manager, explained:
“Everyone looks forward to it because it is the chance for the staff team to spend some quality time with our busy parents and they in turn can share in the magic we see every day as our children play and learn.”
Balloon modelling performed by a children’s entertainer; a variety of games and food including hot dogs and cakes prepared by Lavenders Nursery Chef Adelina Marqeshi, proved particularly popular.
Stalls selling cakes and sweet cones made by the children and the popular jar tombola raised cash for the Alzheimer’s Society which has been adopted by the nursery for a year-long fund-raising drive.
“It was a great day. We have since received lots of emails and messages from parents saying how much fun they all had,” said Jessica.
