Fairy tales and superheroes at Southall Day Nursery
World Book Day has been marked at the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Nursery on the Green on Thornhill Road, Southall.
The children have shown an emerging interest in superheroes and initiated the creation of their very own Superhero Den. Inspired by stories of incredible individuals helping others, the children have used their creativity and imagination to create two new superheroes who they have called Kind Ken and Helpful Helga.
Nursery on the Green Manager Dee Townsend said:
“It may be sub-zero temperatures outside, but at Nursery on The Green we have been keeping warm with both story telling old and new this week. From the traditional Fairytales to more modern superhero books, all reading is good for children and it’s something we encourage throughout a child’s journey with us.”
World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrator’s, books and reading and is celebrated annually in over 100 different countries.
