Responsibility and Sustainability
The Childbase Partnership commitment to the individual extends further than its nurseries boundaries impacting local communities; those in need at home and overseas, and future generations of children and practitioners.
2016 Charity - The Children's Air Ambulance
Following an overwhelming 562 votes, company wide, our chosen charity for the year is the relatively new Children’s Air Ambulance.
Funded entirely by charitable donations – it does not receive any government funding – the charity has just one helicopter, covering the entire country, providing rapid response times to trauma and medical emergency for children and babies.
Every day there are two children in need of their help forcing the charity to make ‘life and death’ decisions about who receives the specialist
care needed. They can only reach one in every three children and babies who need them.
Our Charity Representatives, attending a conference at Head Office in November, gave the charity their seal of approval following a presentation by Children’s Air Ambulance.

CEO Mike Thompson and Commercial Director Lynda Gostelow joined fellow employees in a 767 mile bike ride, raising £50,000 for the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, from Miles House Day Nursery in Bath to Meadow View Day Nursery in Newport Pagnell.
Between 2011-2013 Childbase Partnership diverted nearly 1.8 million disposable nappies –or 347 tonnes of waste –away from landfill. By accepting we have an important role in our communities environment we are contributing individually and collectively to the sustainability of our environment.
Despite an economic downturn, in the 20 months leading up to July 2013, parents, staff and children working together raised nearly £130,000 - a record for the Partnership - for charities as diverse as The Rainbow Children's Hospice, CLIC Sargent, Ikamva Labantu and When You Wish Upon a Star.
